Pregnant?
Think about what you want — and make the decision that is right for you. Give yourself the time you need. Ask yourself honestly: Is this a pregnancy you truly want? Or are you afraid to admit that you don’t?
You may feel torn. You may feel guilty for not wanting what others expect of you. But remember: no one has the right to force you to continue a pregnancy you don’t want. And no one has the right to pressure you into ending a pregnancy you do want. Your health, your feelings, your circumstances, and your future all matter.
Our message is simple: there is no shame in putting yourself and your well-being first. You are not selfish or a bad person for making a decision based on your emotional, physical, financial, or personal circumstances. If you feel that you cannot or do not want to continue the pregnancy — whatever your reason — you have the right to choose abortion.
You don’t owe anyone an explanation. You will know when — or whether — parenthood is right for you. And if now is not the right time, that is okay.
You are not alone. You are not the first, and you will not be the last. Women before you — mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers — have made this choice too, knowing that decisions about their bodies and their lives were theirs to make.
Give yourself time. Think it through. Whatever you decide, make sure the decision is yours.
